Springtime Changes The crisp cold winter's morning
Is coming to an end.
The happy sounds of spring time,
Is just around the bend.
The sounds of new hatched birds,
Chirping for their feed.
Their mothers working constantly,
To get the nutrients they all need.
The sight of new born lambs,
Upon the fields above.
Being cared for every minute,
With that special motherly love.
The trees now start to flourish,
New budding leaves and flowers.
Taking in the moisture from the ground,
Left by the winter showers.
Just like a Welsh Rugby team,
Daffodils stand tall with pride.
The hibernating creatures,
No longer need to hide.

Entwined with your emotions Entwined with your emotions,
Your stomach twists within.
No longer wanting to accept loss,
For the sadness to begin.
Torn to pieces by memories,
Of good times gone by.
It's hard to accept the void they made,
Although you really try.
The love between two people,
A partner, man or wife.
Stays deep within your soul,
In death as it did in life.
Entangled with the bitterness felt,
For the loved one who had to leave.
That bond of love will last an eternity,
So take the time to grieve.

Nine years ago you left our sides Nine years ago you left our sides,
To an illness they couldn't cure.
You promised you would always be close,
And that we know for sure.
For every day since you have left,
I've had a tear in my eye.
But many times in these few years,
I've really needed to cry.
They say you don't realise what you have,
Until it's taken away from you.
The loss of such a loveable dad,
We all know this is true.
Upon the day you left our sides,
April the thirteenth will be always sad.
You may be gone from this life,
But we will always love you dad.

Springtime weather The sight of white crispy frost,
Upon the springtime ground.
The sound of new born birds singing,
And calling all around.
The autumn colours on the trees,
Going from browns again.
After all their roots are fed,
From the showers of rain.
People becoming unwell,
Starting to cough and sneeze.
The feeling of the bitter cold,
As the early mornings freeze.
The springtime weather is so uncertain,
With sun, then snow and rain.
We wait to see what the summer brings,
Hoping for the sun again.

I thought I heard an angel I thought I heard an angel,
Calling out my name.
The voice sounded familiar,
I am sure it's the same.
I thought I smelt an angel,
Who just smells so divine.
With skin so soft and pure,
I sense it next to mine.
I thought I saw an angel,
So beautiful it's true.
But when I opened up my eyes,
I smiled, because it's you.

Today the hurt is major Today you all feel so upset,
As though your heart has been ripped out.
The feeling of such a loss,
really makes you want to shout.
A loving caring parent,
Whom you all cherish.
There is no doubt this person,
Is one you will all miss .
Today the hurt is major,
A void so hard to fill again.
But your love is so great,
This will help to ease the pain.
We know you're full of heartache,
And the loss will take some time.
Be grateful for all the help from family,
And one day your smile will shine.

Patience is a virtue
Patience is a virtue,
Stay focused and be strong,
This will help your future,
By keeping you really strong.
When you are feeling nervous,
Listen to your inner self,
If you have that gut feeling,
Leave it sitting on the shelf.
Don't hesitate to ask advice,
There is always someone there,
Remember you have personal choice,
And a voice that you can share.
In life you will have cross roads,
Some clearly you need to utilise,
For those choices that are mistakes,
It is time to compromise.

A railway man came traveling -
A railway man came traveling,
From Merthyr by Car,
He said I work in Rhymney now,
Because it's not too far.
-
I say I work on the railway,
On the trains as a guard,
The work is very pleasant,
But it isn't very hard.
-
They ask us many questions,
Some of which we know,
But if they are very difficult,
We'd walk away in Status Quo.
-
It's sad they take the best ones first,
A true gent in every sense,
A true railway man all his life,
A friendship so immense.
-
We ask you lord to keep him safe,
Because you gave him the green light to leave,
We have so many memoriess here,
But look after our Steve.

This poem is dedicated to Steve Davies
ATW Rhymney Railway Depot Guard
Who sadly passed away 11 May 2012.
God bless and farewell Tom. Some people ask why take the best,
And make so many cry.
It's all because god needs great men,
To run that railway in the sky.
Another legendary railwayman,
Has suddenly had to leave.
No consolation to his family today,
Or friends and railway colleagues.
Some like to lead from the front,
Like the old days we expected.
But not so many are appreciated,
Or even this well respected.
This week we've lost another railwayman,
Who's memories will live on.
For the final time my green flag waves,
God bless and farewell Tom .

You will always be my sunshine You will always be my sunshine,
Even when there is no sun,
I loved you with all my heart,
Since your life began.
I will always have the memories,
From the years of you growing up,
The first time seeing you walk,
And drinking from a normal cup.
We can both cherish these moments,
Although I may now be gone,
For life never lives on to eternity,
But loving memories live on.

Christmas sadness. Christmas time should be festive lord
But now it will be sad
Because this year you have taken
Another much loved Dad.
Although we have good memories
From Christmas times gone bye
This year will be a hard time
And we may just need to cry.
A Dad is very prominent
And a person we will all miss
The handshakes for the boys
And from the girls a cwtch and kiss.
So lord send us a message
To help us through this years Christmas Day
For some of the Dads we'll love forever
You have taken away.

After their loved ones this year leaving.
As Christmas times come near
The loss and hurt will grow
Because a part of your family has gone
For reasons you don't know.
You asked the lord so many times
Why he took your loved one away
And this year will be so hard
Especially on Christmas day.
You say this should not happen
Someone so loved, taken without choice
But the lord didn't seem to listen
When you asked with a screaming voice.
For Christmas is a family time
And hard for those who now are grieving
So say a prayer for those without their answers
After their loved ones this year leaving.

Heartstrings.
My heartstrings belong to someone
Who I have been with most of my life
My sole mate and the one I love
Who happens to be my wife.
My Soul belongs to the Spirit world
I have it just to borrow
I will add my life experiences
Until I return it one day tomorrow.
My hands to cwtch the ones I love
Who I think of every day
I will also place them together
And say a little prayer.
My feet belong to me
But leased out to my soul
To get around on this earthly plane
So I can gain my life's goals.
My heart belongs to my family
And those through life whose paths I've crossed
A little piece to all those I have loved
Until my last breath is lost.

Before the next New Years Day.
As this year comes closer,
To it's bitter end,
We think of those missing,
Loved ones, family and friends
We take a thought now,
Of the year gone by,
For those who have left us sad,
With teary eyes.
As this year end quickly looms,
We think of those lost loves,
Closest to our hearts and thoughts,
Who are now in heaven up above.
To think of all we lost this year,
Together we will all sit down and pray,
For all our friends and family above,
Before the next New Years Day

This years floods. Many people have been hurt this year,
Due to homes built on flood plains,
The engineers tried to change its route,
But the water will not drain.
Throughout the spring and summer months,
The streams and river levels are so low,
But the heavier winter rainfall this year,
Make them into torrential water flows.
The raindrops fall so heavy,
Bouncing inches off the ground,
Soaking everything in its path,
Nothing is safe and sound.
The rain this year is much heavier,
Making river banks overflow,
This causes total devastation,
Where ever it will go.
